Delhi stands as the capital of modern India, a vibrant metropolis where the old and new, the ancient and the modern, come together in perfect harmony. Its strategic location has been a major factor in its selection as the seat of power by successive dynasties throughout history. As a result, Delhi is a unique amalgamation of seven cities, each with its own distinct character and charm. The city has witnessed the rise and fall of many empires, leaving behind a wealth of monuments that pay tribute to the grandeur and glory of bygone eras. Few cities in the world can boast such a profusion of architectural styles as Delhi.

Le Meridien New Delhi

Property Location
In the heart of New Delhi, Le Meridien New Delhi is close to Jantar Mantar and Vigyan Bhavan. This 5-star hotel is within close proximity of India Gate and Pragati Maidan.

Following breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a tour of Old and New Delhi.

Shah Jahan founded the city of Shahjahanabad, now referred to as Old Delhi, in 1648. The famous Red Fort in the heart of Old Delhi was once the most opulent fort of the Mughal Empire and it boasts the Diwan-i-Am, Hall of Public Audience, and the Diwan-i-Khas, Hall of Private Audience. Opposite the Fort is the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world, built by Shah Jahan to dominate his city. Your tour will include a drive past the Red Fort & visit the Jama Masjid.

Take a cycle rickshaw ride through the back streets of Old Delhi to get a firsthand experience of the hustle and bustle of the ancient city. Also visit Raj Ghat which is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi, marking the spot where he was cremated following his assassination in 1948. It is a popular pilgrimage site for Gandhi followers and is considered one of the most significant memorials in India. The site is enveloped by lush gardens, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere that reflects Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence and reverence for nature. Raj Ghat is a place of solace and contemplation, where visitors can pay their respects to the iconic leader and reflect on his teachings.

Later proceed to New Delhi, and visit India Gate - War Memorial Arch, drive past the Rashtrapati Bhawan – the President’s Residence, the Parliament House – the Government headquarters and other Government buildings located in the heart of New Delhi.

From here you will drive to Humayun’s Tomb - the second Mughal emperor’s mausoleum or the blueprint of the Taj Mahal. It is one of the best Mughal buildings in India and an introduction to Mughal architecture.
Before we conclude the day, visit to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you will have an opportunity to see the holy shrine of Sikhs. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is blessed by the eighth Guru of Sikhs – Guru Harkrishan Sahibji. Originally a bungalow owned by Raja Jai Singh, this huge complex features a devotion centre, a large pond (for holy dipping), a missionary school, an art gallery, a charitable hospital and the free kitchen service – called Langar. Listen to the holy hymns recited by the priests as you visit the community kitchen that serves free meals to all throughout the day.

At Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, you also have an opportunity to visit the community kitchen, where you can learn how to make Chapatis (Indian flat bread).

Note: Visitors are required to take their shoes off and cover their heads (with scarves/ stoles) before entering the temple complex.

Following breakfast, drive to Agra (202 Kilometers, 04 hours 30 minutes approximately).
On arrival, check in to the hotel.

The city of Agra, the epitome of the grand Mughal era, still reigns in the public imagination as the embodiment of regal grace, majestic architecture, and power. With its relaxed atmosphere and its abundance of architecture, handicrafts, and jewellery, Agra is one of the most remarkable cities on the planet.

Later, proceed to visit Agra Fort, which is an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire under successive generations. The gates and walls are constructed of red sandstone, and the Fort is surrounded by a moat.

Proceed for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal (remains closed on Friday). Visit the spectacular Taj Mahal with its perfect symmetry and romantic history. Described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love, this stunning mausoleum has become the de facto tourist emblem of India. It was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Later, return to the hotel for breakfast before you head to Ranthambore, which is approximately 280 kilometres away and will take around 5 and a half hours. On the way, be sure to stop and visit Fatehpur Sikri, a historic city with a rich cultural heritage. Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned red sandstone city constructed by Emperor Akbar as his capital, was a veritable fairytale. Its ruins remain in remarkable condition, allowing us to envision the grandeur of court life during its heyday. On your arrival in Jaipur, check in at the hotel.

Ranthambhore National Park, once a princely game reserve, is the scene where the celebrated Indian tigers are best seen. It lies on the junction of Aravali and Vindhyas, just 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur in Eastern Rajasthan. It sprawls over a varying and undulating landscape. The scenery changes dramatically from gentle and steep slopes of the Vindhyas to the sharp and conical hills of the Aravali. A tenth-century fort also blends amicably with the background. Pure sands of Dhok (Anogeissus pendula) interspersed with grasslands at the plateaus, meadows in valleys and luxuriant foliage around the canals make the jungle. Three big lakes – Padam Talab (meaning Lake), Malik Talab and Raj Bagh – are similar to turquoises studded in the vast forest that abounds with aquatic vegetation, including duckweeds, lilies and lotus.

The Rivers Chambal in the South and the Banas in the north bound the National Park. The park is dotted with steep rocky hills and the dominating architecture of Ranthambhore Fort (built in the 10th century), adds to its landscape. The rugged park terrain alternates between dry deciduous forest, open grassy meadow, dotted by several lakes and rivers that are only made passable by rough roads built and maintained by the Forest Service. The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambhore. A variety of birds, including owlets, the ubiquitous langur (monkey), leopard, caracal, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, marsh crocodiles, wild boar, bears and various species of deer are the other attractions.
