South Bank Parklands

South Bank Parklands

South Bank Parklands are one of the most visited attractions in the Brisbane region and with so much to offer visitors it is easy to see why. The parklands can be found on the South side of the Brisbane River from the centre of Brisbane and follows along Little Stanley Street in the suburb of South Brisbane, Brisbane.

The parklands are used throughout the year for markets, events and festivals and also have a variety of permanent attractions available all year round ensuring there is plenty to for visitors to Brisbane and the South Bank Parklands.

Streets Beach – This man made beach is a popular attraction for locals and visitors to Brisbane, especially during the summer months where people can be found swimming and playing in the water or relaxing on the sand or one of the grassy knolls, enjoying the sun, cool breezes across Brisbane River and vistas to Brisbane’s CBD. The pool itself is chlorinated, contains over 5 Olympic swimming pools of water and is well filtrated through large under ground filtration devices. A small water park is also attached to the Northern end of Streets Beach and is a popular attraction for young families.

Aquativity – A free water park focused on younger families located adjacent to the Southern end of Streets Beach. The area contains a shallow swimming pool (up to 1 metre deep), water jet and tipping buckets. This is a favourite attraction for young children and will be hard to drag them away at the end of the day.

Two playgrounds are located within the South Bank Parklands. The larger of the two is situated towards the middle of the Parklands and includes multiple slides, play huts, climbing webs and more all under large shade-sails protecting children from the sun. The second playground is hidden away in the South of the parklands and includes a hammock swing and fun climbing obstacles for young children.
