Airif Castle

The initial construction of this castle dates back to the reign of the Al Ali Dynasty, i.e. during the 12th Hegira century. Since then, the castle has undergone numerous add-ons until it reached its current form as a mud castle. With all of its many openings and slots for weapons, the site was ideal for defense and surveillance.

Visiting hours extend from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. during official workdays. Thursdays, however, there are two visiting periods: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. then again 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. On Friday, the site is open for visits from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
