The Ottoman bridge

Al-Basta is one of the old quarters in Abha that retains some of the elements of the past. It is a heritage neighbourhood consisting of some old traditional shops and a group of ancient buildings and castles, some dating back to the Ottoman era, surrounding a public square. It is located on the banks of Abha valley in the centre of the city and is connected to the other part of the city with an old Ottoman bridge, which was established during the reign of the Ottoman Empire.
