Leanyer Recreation Park
Leanyer Recreation Park is a place to chill out and have fun. Here where the suburbs meet the bush, people can escape from the heat of the streets and the pressures of their daily lives. Entrance is free.
There is something for everyone - a Water Park with a swimming area, 3 waterslides and water playground, an all abilities playground, places to skate and ride bikes and a basketball court. There are also shaded barbeques and picnic areas. Persons riding the waterslides must be at least 1.1 metres (110cm) in height for safety reasons.
The skatepark is a quality facility which provides challenges to the experienced skater.
The basketball court is available to all visitors and groups. Floodlights are available so that the facility can be used in the evening.
A bitumen cycling path is located at the gate to the Park. This cycle path leads to other suburbs in the area. Cycling paths within the Park can be used by inexperienced cyclists, and also by skaters.
Picnic facilities are available at Leanyer Recreation Park including tables and gas BBQ's. A kiosk is open at various times of the day.
A new water facility including a swimming pool, children's paddling pools and a water playground facility have been opened recently. Lifeguards are on duty at the times the pools and the water playground are operating and open to visitors. Young children under the age of 10 years need to be supervised by parents or carers.
Three waterslides, each 14 metres in height and each over 100 metres in length, are available free of charge to use at the park. Persons riding the slides must be at least 1.1 metres (110cm) in height for safety reasons.
