HAZELBROOK

HAZELBROOK

Directly opposite Hazelbrook Railway Station you can experience the hisitoric ‘Selwood’ which is classified by the National Trust. This old Victorian style building is now home to Selwood Science and Puzzles, a popular tourist attraction, winner of the Harry Hammond Award in the inaugural Blue Mountains Business Advantage Awards 2007.  Offering free admission, this attraction is well worth a visit featuring lots of hands on fun for the entire family. It is also a great place to pick up that special gift. ‘Selwood’ can be found on the opposite side of the railway line to the Great Western Highway.

Hazelbrook shopping centre is well suited to catering for the local community. Featuring a supermarket, Chinese restaurant and several local stores, the town centre has a unqiue community atmosphere. Many Hazelbrook residents regularly commute to Sydney by train.

As you drive west along the Great Western Highway towards Katoomba, the street after the shopping centre is Oaklands Road which leads to the main residential area of Hazelbrook. Not far down Oaklands road you will see a sign to Gloria Park.

Gloria Park is often used for cricket and other sporting activities and also features an athletics oval. You will also find tennis courts and the Hazelbrook Bowling club located at Gloria Park.

There is so much to explore within the bush lands of Hazelbrook. Enter the bush land from Hazelbrook’s Oaklands or Winbourne Roads to discover glorious waterfalls including Burgess, Lena, Lyre Bird and Horseshoe Falls. Further into the Reserve you can discover a natural amphitheatre.

On the opposite side of the railway line enter via Terrace Falls Road where you can walk to Victor Falls, Terrace Falls and Bedford Pool.
