Winding through lofty forests and spice plantations, the road from Thekkady to Munnar is a scenic treasure. On the final climb to Munnar you will see the rolling hills around Munnar carpeted in emerald-green tea plantations and iridescent bushes. Pitched above the clouds you will witness veils of mist clinging to the mountaintops.
The lower slopes of the mountain are dotted with quaint old colonial bungalows whilst the grassy ridges and crags of the High Range include Ana Mudi which is peninsular India’s highest peak. Munnar town itself is small doesn’t offer much to see except for Christ Churchwhich has a unique atmosphere and home to old memorial plaques inside.
